I've played volleyball for around seven years and these are definitely the best knee pads I've owned. I fiddled around with other knee pads until I found these, and then bought four pairs of these over the years. They last very long, are machine washable, and are very comfortable. Speaking as a libero, these pads allow you to slide well on any surface. At the competitive level, these are the best knee pads you can wear.

I play intermediate and Advanced volleyball at least three times a week during the colder months (and some weeks it is 5 times), and I have coached High School and Junior Olympic volleyball. I play around 5 times a week during the summer with 90% of that on the sand/beach. I take volleyball pretty seriously and I see a lot of knee pads. I have tried several different ones made by; Nike, Mikasa, Trace, Hind, and others. I try to find ones that fit me a little snug because I tend to go after any ball that is within my playing space and especially ones that are shanked which I MIGHT be able to get to (Relentless pursuit of the ball). The medium Mizuno VS-1 knee pads fit me exceptionally well and so far I have had Very good protection. They are super comfortable and do not bind or move around a lot while you are playing, and they haven't yet slipped down to give you that dreaded floor burn...I have only played in them a little over 20 hours (6 days of volleyball) in the past couple of weeks since I have received them so they are still under some scrutiny. The only downfall that might be an issue for some is that they appear to retain some sweat on the outside surface of the kneepad after about 2-3 hours of solid playing. The wet "feel" is only on the outside of the padding and you can just feel it, I don't see wet streaks on the floor or anything like that. The back-side, behind your knee, isn't that wet at all so the DRY technology works good. So far it is the best kneepad that I have used and now that I am playing a lot more. I will definitely be buying a few more pairs of the medium Mizuno VS-1's, unless something drastic happens in the near future to the integrity of the kneepad. My 4-star rating is only because I want a knee pad to last a little while and I have not had these long enough to verify how the padding, cloth, and elasticity hold up. Very light, thin padding, but at a competitve level it's fine. Had a couple of floor burns, but not sure why -- may have slipped down a bit while sliding. Overall, it's effective and useful.

I used to use the Nike Dry-Fit knee pads before they redesigned them... and dont like how the new pads feel or fit. So, found out about the these and liked them over the other Mizuno's.

These were the kneepads chosen by my daughter's elite level club team. She and her team members thought they were comfortable and not bulky. They have held up through lots of washings. No complaints!!

This is my third pair of Mizuno knee pads. They are great for high school volleyball.

They are definitely one of the best pairs of pads I've used. BUT...they retain moisture so you need to rotate another pair in if you're playing daily. Also, they bunch a little, so I notice myself adjusting them often. Might just be my deal though.
