The Asics GEL-Volleycross 2 GS Youth Volleyball Shoes are a new youth volleyball shoe for 2010 that builds upon the success of the GEL-Volleycross as well as the smaller sizing of the popular GEL-Rocket 4 to give younger volleyball players a high-performance shoe made just for them. The success of the GEL-Rocket 4 can easily be attributed to its smaller sizes. Asics has recognized this need and has created a high quality shoe just for youth volleyball players.
The GEL-Volleycross 2 GS builds upon the success of the first generation GEL-Volleycross which took the volleyball world by storm by taking the best qualities of a running shoe and combining them with the best qualities of a volleyball shoe. This creates a high performance shoe that allows volleyball players to make quick cuts and movements without loss of traction or support. The shoe is extremely light, weighing in at just 8.5 ounces, and allows players to move freely without being weighed down. The upper on the GEL-Volleycross 2 GS features a special RhynoSkin technology, which provides an abrasion and tear resistant synthetic leather for increased upper durability.
These Youth Volleyball Shoes feature Asics' GEL Cushioning System in the forefoot and rearfoot of the shoe, which helps attenuate shock during impact and toe-off phases and allows movement in multiple directions as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. Simply put, any movement is fully supported and cushioned. Asics has also added an asymmetrical lacing design, which helps reduce potential for irritation and provides improved comfort and fit. Asics has also included its Biomorphic Fit technology found on the upper, which helps reduce buckling and the potential for irritation. Special reflectivity zones help provide for increased visibility in darker conditions

Asics High Abrasion Rubber also strengthens the outsole and provides for superior durability when combined with the NC Rubber Outsole of the GEL-Volleycross 2 GS. These youth shoes also feature a removable ComforDry sockliner, which helps provide room for medical orthotics or ankle braces. This sockliner also provides special anti-microbial properties for a cooler, drier, healthier environment that also offers improved cushioning.

I bought these shoes for my 10 year old daughter who is playing club volleyball. They are the first sport specific shoe that came in her size and they are awesome. They fit like a cross trainer; however, have the preferred pivot points on the soles. She is very particular on fit and comfort and she would wear these shoes for everyday wear if given the opportunity.
